When will the N. Circular and S Circular be connected on the East End?

It's absolutely diabolical that there is a ferry crossing there instead of a bridge at this day in age.
One the posh West End it's bridges galore. There are so many bridges that it's a test question for black cabbies to name all the bridges there.
But in the Industrial east you only have the blackwall tunnel and the dartford cross and nothing inbetween for 10 miles.
I drove to Erith a few weeks back and was surprised at the amount of traffic on the southern roundabout, after driving by I realised there were all waiting for a Ferry!

Probably something to do with the narrower width of the Thames to the west of London and the wide estuary to the East, i.e. cost.0

So where would you suggest this bridge be built?0

Well the consultation about the Silvertown Tunnel was in 2012... then again in late 2015

it's narrower but not that narrow. It's between 1/2 and 2/3 the length between the thames at woolwich ferry areas.
It's not even proportional anyway, it would be understandable if there were 2 bridges for every bridge at east London. That would be proportional if it came down to cost of it.0 -
The A406 finishes nearly a mile from the Thames crossing.
And the South Circular is a hardly comparable. And let's be honest the BlackWall Tunnel is hardly that far away from the A13/A406 roundabout.
Out of interest what "southern roundabout" are you talking about?
The roundabout beside the Ambulance station where people que for the Woolwich Ferry?
Or is there another Ferry and Southern Roundabout down by Erith?
Driving to Erith through that part of town takes ages and always has. A quicker route would be down the A2 and then back up the Erith Road (A220).0 -
The South Circular isn't really a road is it? Not like the North Circular.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
