Nationwide: do they allow multiple cards?

I am quite interested in a Nationwide Select Card. At the moment, I have an ancient Gold Cashback card. I don't like to upgrade it as it is the only card that still carries the Extended Warrantee benefit.
Does anyone have experience to apply for a new Nationwide card while holding one?

I believe you can only benefit from offers on one card at a time. Quote from nationwide here " If you already hold a Nationwide credit card or have closed one in the last 12 months you will not be eligible for the introductory offers"0

You can only have one nationwide credit card, they will allow you to change cards but as you say you don't want that due to the warranty benefit.

I'm actually a bit surprised that you were allowed to keep the Gold card, I don't recall having any option other than to switch to a Select card. But that could be a memory failure rather than fact.0

Not sure this is true, they won't give you introductory offers if you already have an existing card that's what their terms say. So you could have a select card but guess there wouldn't be much point as you'd just get the commission and free purchase transactions abroad with no balance transfer offer etc. If you do online banking, or use the mobile app, and try to apply using their application their system will advise you through the quote process that doesn't leave a footprint on your credit file unless you accept the offer and proceed to a full application.0 -
When he applies it will pick up that he is an existing customer and advise to contact card services if he wants to change his card, he won't get to the soft quote stage or be allowed to submit an application.

Thanks John, it would be worth him trying to apply to see what the system says. Your probably right it probably treats products no longer available differently.0
