Money Claim Online/ Small Claims Court & Deceit claim

Hi - I have an issue where a company director can be shown to have lied to my detriment. The company is in liquidation so no point in a claim for breach of contract.
However I believe there are grounds for a claim directly against the director for the common law tort of deceit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tort_of_deceit
Does anyone know if the tort of deceit is grounds for a claim via the Small Claims Court/ Money Claim Online? I know the tort of negligence is grounds for an action, so maybe all torts are actionable.
I have been in contact with Money Claim Online but they say they are not legally trained etc, cannot comment. I would have thought they would have a list of unlawful acts that can/ cannot be actioned via MCO but it seems they do not.
Thanks

What will you be claiming for?
You will need to provide more information for people to be able to advise you on here. Failing that, seek a solicitor.0 -

The short answer is yes, although you are likely looking at an action under the Misrepresentation Act.
As said above, without more details it is impossible to provide more solid information but I suspect you could benefit from a free (or paid for) session with a solicitor for guidance.
Some information around the subject area HERE.0 -
The reason they don't have a list is because the validity of your claim is not judged by them but by the court/district judge. You can literally file a claim for anything.
If your claim has no legal basis then it will likely be thrown out without a hearing, but they'll still allow you to file.
Perhaps you could give us more details on what the director has done and we could give you our opinions on whether you might have a claim or not.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
