I received a PCN from Smart Parking Ltd (Company # SC138255). The contravention?? Parking at Matalan Leytonstone for 109 minutes and apparently no record of payment attached to my vehicle registration could be found....
Hmmmmm, very luckily I've found the receipt that shows I paid and Vehicle Registration number accurate. So I appealed sending them a picture of the receipt. They have rejected the appeal as they still can't find a record of the payment. :rotfl:
I'm appealing to POPLA with the same evidence.
I'm posting this to warn others "ALWAYS KEEP RECEIPT!"
Pretty sure there are motorists out there who have paid a similar PCN because they threw away the reciept and not-so-Smart Parking Ltd could not find a record of the payment!

I would place them on Legal notice that they are making a false accusation of non payment to which you have provided full and frank evidence to disprove, that if they continue engaging you and your time you will now be charging litigant in person rate of £18 per hour to deal with any further refusal to withdraw this false, baseless allegation.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

its not just SMART though
people should keep that payment ticket for a few months in any case, no matter WHO the PPC is, its the lack of keeping hold of the payment ticket that causes a lot of problems, because that receipt is the legal contract on paper, as you are finding out
stick em in your glovebox and have a clearout every so often

Please don't just say that (alone) in a POPLA appeal...have you researched how to win POPLA appeals against Smart Parking?
What happened when you complained to the Matalan Store manager, as they often cancel these?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
