£125 extra, paid within 3 working days of completing your switch to us. Just use the Current Account Switch GuaranteeCurrent Account Switch Service to transfer and close your old account held elsewhere. If you’ve already received cashback for switching to us since January 2012 we’re sorry but you won’t get it again.
So does that mean I don't have to have direct debits and pay in £x amount per month to get the switching incentive?
I understand to get the additional £5 reward each month you have to pay in £750 or more, pay out at least 2 different direct debits and stay in credit. However do you have to also meet these £5 rewards terms AND do the switching to get the £125??

Thanks

The switching incentive and £5 reward each month are entirely separate. These are the T&C for the switching incentive (scroll down & click on + £125 switching offer terms & conditions)

so yes, providing you meet those T&C and Halifax want you as a customer, it is that easy:)0 -
Just received £125 from Halifax who even paid out before the actual switch took place! It seemed a far easier task than I had with HSBC who bombarded me with letters etc before the switch.0

I received mine almost instantly when account was opened. They even didn't have time to spell 'incentive' correctly hah!0

Same as above. Account and switch started last Thursday. 125 quid in my account Wednesday morning!0

By far the best bank in paying the incentive. Opening an account was a lot easier than First Direct0

Yes this is correct, No need for DD this time round, or a monthly payment. You will either need an existing account held with halifax or open one and qualify for a either a current a/c, reward current a/c or ultimate reward current a/c.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. I've just opened a Halifax account and started the switch process. The switch doesnt complete until 01/03/2016 but the £125 was in the account on Wednesday even before I received my debit card!
I though FD were fairly prompt once meeting the requirements but Halifax wins hands down0 -

To clarify. If you switch to the Halifax Reward Current Account you will get £125 and £5 per month but you will have to pay in £750 per month and have at least 2 DDs. If you switch to the Halifax Current Account you will get £125 but not £5 per month and there is no monthly pay in or DD requirement.0
