Did anyone see Martin on This Morning mid week with Dr Chris Steele talking about generic over the counter drugs. One of them that flashed up was Zirtec for (i think) 56p although it did not say how many in a packet. I have checked the This Morning web site and have found nothing. Can anyone tell me where you can buy that hayfever drug for that price from, many thanks.x

Maybe Martin was talking about a generic alternative to Zirtec for that price ???
Sainsbury's do their own "Hayfever & allergy relief" tablets for about 99p for a pack of 7. I've found them to be just as good as the expensive brand names.0 -
Martin was talking about the generic equivalent - though it wasn't Zirtec that was that price. The cheapest I've seen the generic is £2.99 for 30. The key however is Clarytin and Zirtec actually work of a similar but different active ingredient. I'll be honest I have forgotten right now what it is - however look at the back of the packet they go to the supermarket (or Savers centre if you have one near you that is often cheaper) and find the equivalent. Remember it is the SAME drug and that's what counts (Dr. Chris Steel confirms the medical side of this - hence why we were doing it together)

Zirtec is Cetirizine Hydrochloride (same as benadryl).
Claritin is Loratadine.
P.S. 0 I am not a pharmacist but the source is Boots website so I'm pretty sure it's correct.0 -
Cheers Martin ;D0

Clarytin you say Martin? My hubbie was on that worked miracles but they stopped selling it over the counter, so he went to the Dr who prescribed him the new 'purer' version (so dr advised) Claratyn plus I think it was named but it wasnt as effective.
But now Claratyn seems to be advertised on TV again so whats going on? Why did they remove it from sale? He is now prescribed Telfast (also called Fexofenadine) but the effects dont last as long as Claratyn used to! ::) The Dr says they dont do the old style Claratyn anymore and the new one isnt as effective either, so hes a little stuck!
