Garden Shed Advice

I am looking at garden sheds at the moment, and need something that's large enough to fit the standard lawnmower, bike, paint cans etc., but also room for some home gym equipment. Nothing too fancy - just a freestanding pull up station and a bench press.
Obviously there are the traditional wooden shed options but I'm also intrigued by Keter's range of plastic outdoor sheds.
I have a small Keter lock up garden chest that is great, so was just after some advice/recommendations if anyone has also looked at both options or indeed gone with a larger Keter shed. Thanks

I'd stick with wood personally. Metal sheds sweat a lot so your stuff will get rusty and I can't see a plastic shed standing up to any knock or bangs.0

I had already thought about this but reviews online mention frequently that they have good ventilation grills built in, and also windows that open in the summer etc.
Knocks and bangs should be an issue either I wouldn't think, judging from the quality of the smaller lock up I have already.
Wooden sheds surely always succumb to worse weather related issues no?0 -
A well maintained wooden shed will easily match up to one of those Keter sheds , that plastic material soon starts looking manky , even the metal ones look a bit ropey in short order
good quality shed is what you need , treated yearlyNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Plastic will fade quite badly over time. Even my metal shed is starting to fade (albeit after 3 or 4 years). A wooden shed can be painted/stained every few years very easily whereas a metal shed requires more preparation and would probably still look a little crap!
If I was to do it again I would either build a wooden structure (treated 2x4 with shiplap or similar on the outside) myself or a block built structure!0 -
Whatever shed you get, in a short time it will not be large enough. So get the absolute largest one that you have space for.
It's a well known fact that "things" migrate to sheds. Apparently without human intervention.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
This is true. I set mine up as a holding pond/quarantine. In no time at all I found a cement mixer in there, then some tools, then a massive neon sign from a local Indian Restaurant followed by some fencing. It is currently very difficult to find room to stand in there!0

I bought a 8ft x 11ft Keter Plastic shed from Argos 6 years ago.
It's very sturdy & robust, hasn't needed any maintenance and looks more or less as new. No fading etc. I have had 3 wooden sheds over the years and the plastic one is by far the best.
(Just a tip if you don't need it urgently Argos sometimes has offers on these over bank holiday weekends. I managed to save over £300 off the 'regular' price this way.)
Hope this helps.0 -
