MSE Treasure Hunt

  • Just logged on so it looks like I've missed all the action !
  • Didn't even see this. However a thought crossed my mind. Is this not just as annoying as when someone wins a competition that you know is a prolific comper?

For example I see a few comps on FB for small companies that I have supported, bought goods etc over the years. Occasionally they run a competition and all and sundry enter and worse still a prolific comper wins. I feel exactly the same that their loyal customers never seem to be rewarded!

I'm sorry, I may be missing something here, but I'm sure there are many of us who register on sites just to enter the competitions.
It's a bit pot, kettle, black, isn't it?

It was posted on other competition sites, it's fair game IMO.

Yes, I guess so :o I suppose it was the speed in which they were posted that made me question both things together - last time there was a treasure hunt on here it took ages for them all to be found. I've just seen that it did take a while - I thought they'd all been got in the first 10 mins with the number of posts on the thread.

I withdraw my earlier theory :p
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
  • I agree with the points being made about it being strange that brand new members won most of the treasure hunt prizes. As I am new to comping and MSE this year, I have no experience of the other treasure hunts - but understand the frustration of others.

In terms of the point made about loyal customers of companies not winning prizes over other compers, I have to admit that I haven't been a loyal customer of any of the companies I have won prizes from. Except if you count the Asda and Tesco soup comp ( though it was the first time I'd had c&b soup!). I will however, become a regular customer of cook italian after winning two delicious prizes. :)

Well I missed it all, so popped onto the thread to see what it was all bout.
What struck me (OK, I only looked at first & last couple of pages...) was the absence of chat! How did they manage that? LOL!

This would stop people just registering for this comp and ensure the prizes went to people who actually use the site for other things.

Don't wanna be rude.. but isn't that what this entire competition sub forum is? I find it hard to believe that any single user on this entire forum is a regular visitor of the sites that they enter competitions on. Most people just click the link and enter and have never visited the site before (unless it was to enter a previous comp) so don't get too upset as you (and everyone else) have probably done the exact same thing :D

I saw the post and then ignored it. I got called in to work early but even if I didn't, I really don't have time for a 'treasure hunt' competition. Far too much effort!!

unfortunately they are letting people know who are winners by pm, so we wont even see what percentage of the winners registered feb2016! i imagine the majority!
you can get an idea by just having a quick look through the posts on the thread - not 100% but a good few!
