Best Lawnmower for bumpy grass
Hi All
Looking to buy a lawnmower , and our budget really is sub £100
We have nice enough grass , classed as a small lawn , but its quite bumpy and uneven , we did have a flymo but we found it took chunks out of the grass/mud below
My wife thinks we need a mower with a roller on it as that might control the mower better
any advice very welcome !

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Buy one with adjustable height! We have a Bosch which copes relatively well with our very bumpy lawn (our own fault as we rotavated a large chunk of it and then failed to do anything further before the grass grew back!). Only problem is you end up with slightly longer grass than you might prefer! Alternative is a strimmer I suppose, depending how small small is...
...or get lots of small children to run around and jump on the sticking up lumps?! :rotfl:(we're still considering that as an option!).0 -
I already have option 3!
Going to set them to work as soon as the clocks change!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
mix up some compost and sharp sand and use this to level out the lawn then re seed .Pure Dog Loving0

We have quite a bumpy lawn and bought a Qualcast mower for under £100. It has 4 wheels rather than being a hover type and I find it doesnt scalp the grass like the hover mower did. That said, we leave the grass fairly long and either have it on the highest or second highest setting. Apparently this means the grass doesnt grow back as fast nor does the grass dry out as much in summer.
I just want a fairly neat lawn not necessarily manicured/bowling green type so it works for us0 -
You need a wheeled mower. A cheap roller one won't be heavy enough to have any impact on the lumps and it will struggle.0
