Day trip travel insurance

I'm flying to Barra from Glasgow next week, there and back in one day, and I need to find insurance to cover the trip (my annual travel insurance policy insists on booked accommodation and an overnight stay, so is no use in this case).

Does anyone know where I can get cover for this day trip, as obviously the risks of delay/cancellation/death by plane crash etc still apply?

Thanks for your help!

Most insurers have the same condition

Does your airline offer flight insurance? Thought you could add this to a booking with Flybe.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried Flybe first, they have the same 'must stay in booked accommodation' rule for trips within the UK

Never mind, it's not like I'm taking lots of money/valuables or anything, so I don't really need the insurance probably.

Not sure, but I'll check , thanks for that
  • Look at comparethemarket.com - not sure if you'll find what you're looking for, but if you do you should qualify for the 2 for 1 cinema tickets

Unfortunately, that's where I started (wanted those free cinema tix)! But as soon as you look at T&Cs you see they all want you to stay overnight in booked accommodation... :(
