I stand, or rather sit, corrected Mr SPM.
Personally, I think that's disgraceful as it basically means that the tenant's current boyfriend/girlfriend can jointly own a council property and reap the reward of the huge discount.0 -

Interesting.
What constitutes living together as if they were husband or wife or civil partners?0 -
RTB is a joke. It would be more economical for the council to just gift the couple the discount in cash!0

Guest 101:
1) as we deal with large numbers of RTB applications I try to stick to factual comment rather than personal comment - we have 'normal' transactions that sometimes make me uncomfortable on a personal basis, but our measure has to be are they correct and lawful
2) we have had cases where that (#14) has been the end result
3) that (#15) classes as the 'post of the day' :rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

One flat is hardly an empire!0 -
If you are in it for the long term (which I am assuming you are seeing as you are prepared to get a joint mortgage) then why not sell your flat and pool your money together to buy something jointly? This will then release the council property for somebody who actually needs it.0
