Hi
was wondering if anyone can tell me how long it takes to get a Nationwide mortgage offer.
valuation (on my purchase) is done with no issues, had my mortgage interview and all fine. so how much longer does it take for an offer?
thanks

Just phone and ask them. As it kind of depends on the current workload of the underwriters, and how much they feel the need to kick the tyres on your finances."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

I'm sitting at 2 months now with a NW application, been rather stressing, the underwriters keep coming back to my MA with questions, half of the time, ones that have already been answered previously...
Strange really, as my application is in effect an extension of an existing offer, the developer I'm buying off just had huge delays, so I'm having to reapply for the mortgage. It all went through a lot smoother the first time round, while in essence, nothing has changed, in fact, I've had a wage increase in the meantime...0 -
Nationwide are a nightmare. When we remortgaged with them I had to phone them every couple of days to keep them "on it".
We found that they didn't ask us for everything they needed in one go, and then when they realised they were missing something, they just paused the application and did nothing. Rather than contact us and let us know, they waited for us to feel that it was going slowly and ring them to find out why. They then said "oh yes, we couldn't proceed because we need xyz"
Painfully slow - keep at them or it'll grind to a halt!0 -
I got my mortgage offer from Nationwide last Thursday (a week today) - I chased them every day, twice a day. I know it sounds excessive, but most of the time I called they asked for additional documentation. If I hadn't been chasing non stop it may have taken significantly longer.
From when we applied to application was just under 4 weeks, and that was with me chasing a lot! Their system was a bit silly as one of the last 'hurdles' was they needed our bank statements... When we applied they didn't require them at that point apparently, quite bizarre. I even bank with them.
But my best advice is don't worry - run with it, and chase and update when you can. Good luck0 -
My mortgage will be with Nationwide. Took me 3 weeks from initial meeting to discuss and apply for a mortgage to receiving my offer.
Still waiting to exchange though another 3 weeks on from then!0
