Over the weekend I noticed my available balance was much lower than expected, can't see pending transaction however. Contacted bank and they could see two large pending transaction, neither of which I had made.
One of them was for Direct Line Insurance, which lead me to wondering what the scammers are expecting to get out of it? Once the transaction is disputed, then whatever insurance was taken out will be invalidated, leaving the scammers with nothing (except perhaps a worthless certificate).
So what was the point?

Maybe it proves to a car dealer that they've insured the Jag they've just bought with a fraudulent transaction.0

Proof of ID? Proof of address? Who knows what these scammers have up their sleeve - their thought processess are otherworldly to most of us.0

Probably to get a certificate of insurance which then can be doctored to a fraudsters liking.0
