Pleading hardship

Hi Everybody,
I was reading with interest the procedure for reclaiming bank charges through financial hardship. I applied for my charges to be repaid just as the case was heading to the Supreme Court so I obviously was unsuccessful.
At that time, I was in severe financial hardship and into a seemingly unending spiral of debt. I had to take out an insolvency arrangement and eventually cleared everything.
Now I have no debt issues, indeed the opposite is now the case. What I want to know is can I reclaim those charges today citing the hardship I wa in at the time?:money:

No, the banks will only look at your current situation.0

Actually, you can cite the hardship at the time, I did and was made a 'goodwill gesture' refund.0

Hardship cases were unaffected by the supreme court case. Now I have no debt issues, indeed the opposite is now the case. What I want to know is can I reclaim those charges today citing the hardship I wa in at the time?
You can do anything your like. However, the bank is only required to look at your current situation and take action if they feel you are in current financial hardship. They are not even required to refund a penny to those in current hardship as they have other options available. Some banks only look at the last 6-12 months worth of charges.
So, by all means ask but expectation is you will get nothing or if you are lucky, a small goodwill gesture.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Looks like I'll give a miss if they look into my current status. On a side note I did receive a refund of all my packaged bank account fees + interest from 1995 which is a bonus. This is well worth applying for if you had one. RBS paid me out four weeks after I applied.0
