Washer dryer

Hello

I have an Indesit Waher Dryer & have been concerned with the recent problems people have had with the tumble dryers.

I have checked the manual & their is no mention of any filters that need cleaning also i can find no mention on Indesit's website of my machine being included in the recall/repair notices. I have contacted Indesit several times for clarification but un-suprisingly recd no response.

Does any one know if washer dryers have the same filters as tumble dryers.

Thanks

No they don't. All the fluff supposedly gets washed away with the condensed water.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

    And the model is...

IIRC, my previous WD, Indesit, did have a filter in the bottom right corner.
    My current one, Hotpoint, says:
The washer dryer is fitted with a self-cleaning pump which doesn't require any maintenance. Sometimes, small items (such as coins or buttons) may fall into the pre-chamber which protects the pump, situated in its bottom part.

That's not the fluff filter that is causing the problems on tumble dryers, it's the washing machine filter.

I had a similar problem with mine and wasn't sure, hope this helps.

"Filter - All washer-dryers have a filter, which catches fluff whipped up when drying, as well as bits of debris. They need to be cleaned regularly, which can be a pain on some models because they are often close to the ground and can be fiddly to open." Found this from Which?

    Do you mean vented dryers?

Both vented and condensing dryers are 'tumble'.

I don't think that my condensing WD has any other filter except the water pump one and I think 'Which' are wrong when saying 'all need regular cleaning'.

As far as I remember (it's been a while) all tumble dryers have an easily accessible fluff filter which should be cleaned after every use (like that's going to happen!).
If I recall correctly the Indesit problem was with vented dryers & fluff build-up on the heater, presumably because the filter wasn't doing it's job.

That bit from Which? is just what I expect from Which? - drivel.

The actual model is IWDC 6143

Well, this just confirms what I said.
There is no any mention or any filter that needs cleaning or even exists, except the same 'self-cleaning' pump that still may require cleaning sometimes.

I am curious what "recent problems people have had with the tumble dryers" your referred to...

I clear mine after every use - it is amazing to see how much gets collected in that time.
