Having several credit cards for short period

It all depends on your overall credit history. Sure having five cards up to their limit with missed payments would be a red flag to lenders but sensible utilisation and always paying at least the minimum payment will be good for your history. Lenders like to see that you can be responsible with borrowing so just try and keep one or two cards for a longer period so the payment history is on your credit files. Also watch for searches as each credit card application will leave a footprint on your file and too many of these in a short space of time will concern lenders who may feel you are desperate for credit. Just try to space applications over a period of time. Also remember that there's is a delay from that initial search and the account being reported to the CRA as open and lenders don't know if you were rejected following the credit search.0
