Will there be consequences if I use the Amazon Prime trial for only a month?

Hello there,
I would like to buy about £500 worth of items which are directly from Amazon. I noticed the trial links and was wondering if I could use it to buy everything using the one day delivery option and then cancel the trial.

I'm not a huge user of the site so I don't really need a prime subscription. I also wouldn't bother with the trial but it would be very convenient for me to get the package on Thursday (after ordering it on Wednesday).

So I just wanted to know if there would be any trouble if I did this? I don't want them to think that I'm abusing the system and close my account / blacklist my address.

If I order everything in one go I assume that everything will come together right? Also, what courier does Amazon use for next day and same day delivery?

Thanks for reading.

Nope. I'm currently in my second month free trial (had a free month last year sometime, it must reset) my brother is on his third. I cancelled both mine immediately after signing up (you still get the delivery upgrade for the month)

My last Amazon next day parcel came in a unmarked van from a bloke. Not a known courier to me. Depending on how/where they come from the stuff might not come together.

None at all, don't believe all the "omg amazon took my money" idiots who clearly blindly agreed to the trial or never cancelled it properly.

Agree to the trial - then go straight into your account and cancel it. The trial remains active for however many days are left when you cancel it.

I've done this several times and never had any issues.

It should - as long as all the items are eligible for prime and ordered before the cut off date.

As for courier, for me it's usually their own courier "Amazon Logistics" usually arrives in a white unmarked van. Unfortunately I've had several problems with them in the past over failure to deliver on the correct day or items falling off the face of the earth, but to be fair Amazon have issued refunds without much arguing.
  • Just be aware that not everything may be delivered 'next day'.

I have had two months at different times of the free prime trial and no other charges, as I went in straight away after setting it up and cancelled the auto renewal and still got the benefits for a month. Dd set her free trial up in December so she could have free and quick postage for all her Christmas gifts and cancelled after setting up.
Here is the link to cancel it straight after starting:

    Yeah I just noticed that.

4 items can come tomorrow (24th), 3 on the 25th (though weirdly 2 are together and one is separate) and 2 on the 26th (it's one item but I'm buying 2 of them but they only have 1 in stock).

Should I just wait for the 24th delivery deadline to finish and have nearly all the items come on the 25th?

    Wait before what?

As has been said, no need to delay your cancellation.

I was talking about the delivery dates, even with one day delivery the different items were coming on the 24, 25th & 26th so I was asking about waiting till the delivery deadline changed to the next day but that's already happened so I can expect 9 out of the 11 items to come on the 25th.

Amazon make it very easy indeed to cancel the free trial.

In fact, last time I did it, they even had an option to automatically delay the cancellation until the very end of the free trial, so you could sign up, set up the cancellation straight away, and still get the free month.

A model of how a free trial subscription should work in my opinion.

The items will be coming from different warehouses , hence different delivery dates.

Delivery will not necessarily be one parcel.

You may find that , tomorrow, all the delivery dates have moved

What did you choose to do and did you get all the items delivered ?
