Agreed. With no payment made for 8 years it was surely defaulted more than 6 years ago. So why is it still on your credit file?0

I have no idea where the credit agreement is for a card I took out 16 years ago.
But I've paid every payment.0 -
Hi Gary
Can you confirm that there is actually a record of this debt on your credit file? Or are you simply assuming there may be? Once the account has defaulted (probably within months of you stopping payments), it should disappear off your file altogether six years later.

Not only that but if you have not made a payment in the last six years, you have not made a payment or admitted the debt in writing in the last six years, there has never been a CCJ to recover the debt, it's statute barred.0
