M&S don't seem to have been listed in the 2016 poll (less than 100 votes despite the MSE switch publicity?) M&S are very helpful in branch, but the phone service is drastically under resourced (25 minute wait advertised today). This is by a long way the least responsive of the banks I have had accounts with. When I mentioned this in branch they said it wasn't an uncommon comment.

So if many are commenting why isn't this fixed?

Also given that HSBC can run a service that is widely admired (First Direct), why is the M&S brand that they also run so s--l--o--w by comparison?

Shock news just in. Switching bonuses (boni?) don't necessarily result in people sticking with the account they switched to. Fewer and fewer people are interested in current accounts that don't pay a decent rate of interest or other type of reward.

Also, MSE survey is very simple - you have to pick 1 bank even if you have accounts with a dozen or more.

  • I think with all the new customers, they're absolutely inundated because its taken me almost two months (yup you read that right!) to swtich and its still not happened yet! Its all been a bit of a comedy of errors with them saying they would send me documents digitally but because they have so many customers wanting things emailed out. I was told they had to send me my documents via post (a logic I questioned but still don't understand).

So I made a complaint and was told to get a written response it would take - 8 weeks! 8 weeks! Im really considering just jacking in the whole thing.
