OK but I would appeal and kill it as described in case PE ever revert to hire firms. Very very easy for a hirer to win at POPLA and all online.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And I don't want to give them a uk address as that's potential problems for whoevers house it is if they send debt collectors letters etc

"If you get a letter addressed to me from or concerning ParkingEye chuck it in the bin". How is that a problem?

Anyway your logic is illogical. If you appeal from a UK Address it's not guaranteed that you will win, and if you lose they will send three times' as much junk mail to the UK address (and if you appeal from your NZ address you will almost certainly not get your PoPLA code in time to use it).

It is CERTAIN a hirer would win, with the right words.

I may well return to the UK within 6 years and wish to avoid a CCJ

Any CCJ would be invalid because English County Courts cannot hear cases against non-UK residents.

One plan would be to have your UK stooge let you know that a claim form has arrived, and then you simply write to the court pointing out that you are a non-resident. Game over.

The only things certain in this world are death and taxes.

Just to confirm nothing received in NZ, I have an emailed copy of PCN and letter hire company sent to notify of 35 admin fee.

    Enterprise now charge £35?!

That's harsh - right, appeal, and then get that refunded!

Our fleet is in the region of 7000 owned by us, and a further 100,000 under our terms - as Reg'd Keeper, we charge a £10+vat admin fee.

    Hire company is enterprise

    Told ya:

See 5(d). The usual stuff about real penalties and real offences, not a word about speculative invoices from private companies. That means they've got 35 of your finest British quids to which they are not entitled.

I think Enterprise are one which will refund when he wins.

Easy enough as long as the appeal doesn't add anything about who was driving, so not 'I didn't know/I didn't see'. Then the hirer wins on lack of hire documents served.

Make your mind up as they might have posted a PCN to NZ and it only allows 21 days, not 28 for 'appeal' by hirers. the sooner that's done the sooner POPLA can be done, if you decide to go that route to get it all back to zero.
