Clearscore asking me strange questions

I called Clearscore to register for a free credit report and got asked some absolutely strange questions regarding my report. One question was regarding an account i opened in April 2012 and they gave me options to pick. I had not opened an account in that time, so i told them it was none of them.
Now i know for a fact there hasn't been an account opened in that time. My recent credit reports with Experian and Equifax show no account being opened during that time.
So why ask this question?

Same question was asked to me and my other reports with other agencies showed no account opened. Think there might be a problem with their questions system.0

Multi-choice Q&A and one of the answers should be "none of the above". You should expect spoof questions. But Clearscore is strange at the best of times: Their top choices of credit cards matched to my credit report/score is always the AA / Bank Of Ireland cards which as far as I'm concerned is just about the worst choice I could ever make.
Clearscore is useful but only just!0 -
I bet its to make sure your who you say are and adding in a spoof question they hope to catch people out.0

When I did mine with Equifax, none of the 4 questions related to me at all, so I clicked "None of the above" on all of them. So I couldn't get an account made and had to call them up to confirm my details which gave me access.0

You do get asked strange questions sometimes. More than once during a 'security check' my own bank have read out a list of names of people I have allegedly lived with asking me to state which one of them I have lived with. Amongst the list of names is a slightly different variation of my own name. I give this answer. I pass the security check. My bank therefore believe I have been living with myself!0

Personally I would avoid clearscore like the plague. I complained about a default on my account and rather strangely I was locked out of my clearscore account the very next day. They had someone from clearscore answering questions on the forum; but she refused to answer my question. I don't take it personally!! I use noddle, free and easy to use.0

I recently started to register with them and it occurred to me that they were asking far more questions than Noddle ever did, or Experian or Equifax when I had the free trials with them. I abandoned the registration.0

Were they asking questions that clearly wouldn't relate to data held about you by Equifax? If so, they are building up a financial profile of you for onward transmission to anyone they can sell it to.0 -
You talk some tosh gingerbob, the questions are to check you are you. Fraudsters don't know you never had an account with a specified lender. If you never used the lender say you never used them, question passed.0
