Door security

Need to have this sorted quickly. Currently have wooden back door with single glass panel and upvc front door which is all obscure glass except letterbox!!! Not sure what sort of glass in front door. Anyway I don;t feel secure and know that back door needs replacing or just glass. Is laminate glass good? Should I replace both doors or change the glass? I need to make back and front entry secure. Front door has no chain just a mortice deadlock.What type of door is more secure thick wood or upvc?

Is timber stronger than upvc door?

The glass in the front door is likely to be toughened glass - I believe this is building regs requirement for glass fitted to a door. The front door is also likely to have shoot bolts that anchor the door to the frame when shut, normally actuated by lifting the door handle up.

I think upvc is better than timber as it has more locking devices, also it doesn't rot and you don't need to paint it at all.

Anyone know anything bout fibreglass or grp doors apparently tougher that upvc or timber. Does laminated glass mean the same as toughened glass?

Laminated glass means that a plastic film is fitted so that if the glass breaks it will not shatter, do you live in a rough neighbourhood?
