Hello
I currently have a PC with the monitor plugged in to the usual monitor connection and a Panasonic projector plugged into the HDMI.
However, everything I do on the screen is duplicated on the projection. We have a program that suggests it can play just the video from a specific window down the HDMI line to the projector whilst displaying the desktop view on the PC screen. however we can't get this to work
It seems to suggest changing display settings so that it knows there are 2 displays, which I have done but can only get it either to display on both screens or not display at all on the projector
Please can someone advise hat configuration we need to be able to achieve this?
Many thanks

What OS are you using?0

Hello
actually I dont know. Machine is at nother building. It is at least Windows 8.1, don't know if a colleague 'upgraded' to Windows 100 -
What you need to do is go into the display settings and make sure the desktop extends to the 2nd monitor (projector) rather than mirror.
how you do this depends on the OS0 -
The answer is more reliant on the type/make of graphics output device your computer has ..
In my case, im using intel HD graphics, so I would need to right click the icon in the system tray, and choose to extend the desktop, rather than clone it ..
Hope this helps

[windows] + P brings up options to switch beetweeen each monior and extend/duplicate.
I think this works in windows 8/10 not sure about others.0 -
^^ Ha I never knew that , thanks !!
Confirmed working in windows 7 too0 -
yes , set to extend , open the program and "drag" it across to the second screen and play or whatever , whilst that is happening walk from right to left with your mouse tracker and it will appear in the left monitor , do what you wish with thatSave a Rachael

Trying this at home now with my laptop. I have plugged it with an HDMI lead into my TV and then chosen to EXTEND. I am merely able to type this message on my laptop screen while my TV is showing an empty windows desktop with the icons across the bottom. How do I control what happens on my TV?0 -
ok , open a vid file and start watching a film (on your laptop) , now drag the "film" over to the TV screen .
move basck with your mouse to the laptop and now open internet explorer
on the web , and a film on the projector
I found I could not get multiple internet explorers , but could duplicate microfoft edge for a customer doing stocks n scaresSave a Rachael

You've never dragged a tab across? Just left click a tab and drag it to the other screen.
Works in Win 8.1 Internet Explorer, just tried it.
I wasn't sure about IE, but I often drag a tab to the other screen with Palemoon and Waterfox.
Basic stuff, imo.Move along, nothing to see.0
