Insurance companies ask if you are being investigated for anything. You should have mentioned your hospital stay.
I'm sure you'll get cover, but at a cost.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Even if you had not been to hospital before taking out the new insurance, your condition has now changed, so you must report this to the insurance firm. Failing to do so will probably mean they will not pay out for anything.
Because your are still being diagnosed, you may find that you cannot get cover from anyone. This is because insurance firms will only cover you (at an additional cost) for properly diagnosed conditions. If your condition is not fully diagnosed, they cannot and will not quote you for cover.

Our insurance policy asked for details of anything we had consulted a doctor about in the last 2 years.
It also advised that is we were waiting for a hospital appointment or test results they could only cover for accident or injury. There argument was that if they did not have a diagnosis they could not determine whether any medical condition that arose was related to the undiagnosed condition or not.
The only way you will know how your insurance company will react is by asking them.
Once you do that you will know where you stand.
If they decline to cover you now, you may still be able to get cover once you have the results of the mri.0
