I need 2 direct debits for my Santander 20k account. Does it count if I set a regular payment to one of my other bank accounts?

Are you sure you have right "bank accounts" that you can set up DDs to from Santander?
Only very few savings accounts allow setting DDs to credit them from a current account.0 -

Sorry couldn't resist
SO's and DD's are very different thing and are not interchangeable0 -
in barclays web banking it lists them under direct debits0

Lists what and where?Transfers and standing orders
- Transfer money between accounts
- Set up a standing order
- Standing order between accounts
- Transfers, standing orders and Direct Debits
- ...
And if you click under 'manage' it offers you to select between- All payments and transfers
- Single payments and transfers
- Standing orders
- Direct Debits

If you go next to your account and click in the drop down menu and select direct debits, it will also list your standing orders!!!! wake up!!!!0

Well, I don't have any SOs to check what you say, but there are two separate items in the drop-down menu:- View Direct Debits
- View standing orders
And even if I select "View Direct Debits", it still asks me on the next step "What kind of information do you wan to see?" with a default option "All payments and transfers" - unless I select "Direct Debits" once again.
I agree that this double/repeated selection can be a little confusing, but only at first glance or, indeed, when being only half-awake.0
