Royal Mail Special Delivery Question

Hopefully this is the best section to ask in although it is not actually eBay....
I sent a reasonably valuable item for repair by RMSD. However the online tracking system has said "no information available, please check back later" for the last few days.
A phone call from the repairer suggests they have got the item and I have no reason to doubt that. However, for my own peace of mind I would have like a copy of the proof of delivery.
Is this a common issue?

Are you sure it wasn't Signed For Delivery and not Special?
Special is always tracked, but Signed for arrives but postmen known not to bother with getting a signature.0 -

Well the url you give tells me there is a problem with the reference number (despite typing in what is on the receipt).
I had previously used
https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item
Which accepts my number but says "no information available, please check back later" as I said earlier.
I have tracked hundreds of items in the past!0 -

Unfortunately you need to contact RM CS (twitter is quicker TBH)

I've had this with SD. The tracking never updated, even after contacting RM CS. However, the item did get there.0
