Has anybody seen this new concept called Curve?

There's an initial fee of £35, you can then load your American Express card onto it and use it anywhere that accepts MasterCard.

Ok but equivalent to bpay with a couple of variations. bpay is cheaper and has Barclays behind it. Shares with contactless in that it can only be used for payments up to £30, probably a little low for Amex transactions.

Personally, I don't understand the logic of using a contactless device to pay with my contactless cards. I might as well just use the contactless cards

Using a contactless device (Apple Pay) instead of the native contactless card payment has many benefits but for me, as non-metro-sexual man (no man-bag), it is speed. Payments at the checkout are probably twice as quick as someone getting the right card out of their wallet and for trivial transaction, I don't even wait for the receipt.
