Madeira Cake for breadmaker please? (or any cake)

Options
I have searched the breadmaker thread and have only been able to find a recipe for rich chocolate cake and Im not sure if to do the ingredients in two halves like the cake in my manual.

Would you be so kind as to give me some cake recipes for my breadmaker, or advise me if it really isnt worth making cakes in it?

Having seen how quick and easy it was to make bread I was a little disappointed that the cake recipes in the manual had to be hand mixed before starting.

I've had two different breadmakers and both required ingredients being mixed separately.

Neither of them made a very good job of the cake either.

    Great bread, lousy cakes :)

    Hi,
I make a lovely lemon drizzle in the BM. First use normal sponge recipe 3 eggs, 6oz sugar, 6oz, butter, 6 oz SR flour. Put in BM on dough cycle for 5 min. Whilst it is mixing gently stir the flour that might get stuck on the edges into the mix. Then use bake setting (mine is about an hour) When cooked, mix icing sugar and lemon juice in a pan (sorry not sure of amounts - depends if you want it sweet or more tangy) gently bring to the boil until it turns to a light syrup. Use fork to put holes in top of cake and drizzle the syrup in. I sometimes also add lemon icing on the top (mix icing sugar with lemon juice instead of water) Lovely ;)
