Evening all
Ok so I am not sure whats going on so hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me,
My credit rating as far as I can see is not bad, and it improves each month.
I have had a barclaycard for 2 years and have always maintained my payments/cleared the balance each month. I have never defaulted on my credit card or any direct debit I have.
This month I cleared my balance of £350 off my credit card and decided to close it. After I had done this I thought I had made a mistake as the credit card had helped me improve my credit score! I spoke to Barclaycard the next morning and they said because I had said I wanted to close it that was it, I could not go back on what I had requested. So much for a valued Barclaycard family member.
I now have no credit card (which isnt the end of the world ) however when looking at eligibility apparently I am not worthy of even a Vanquis card.... I am confused..... any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Try your own bank, or another sub prime lender. You shouldn't have too much problem getting another card.
Try to keep the next one open though.0 -
try opening another sub-prime really quickly, ie, before BC report the settled account.
Although I am totally baffled as to why you closed your one and only CC, especially with such a tiny balance.0 -
I'm not sure why you're concerned. You've nothing against you on your credit rating, and you've just closed the account. Why the urgency for a sub-prime card? Just apply for another when you need one, or if you want one on standby. You'll be able to get a perfectly fine 0% card if you need one.0
