I know these are sort of how long are piece of string style questions but i have never done things like this before and am worried about being ripped off. Would be most interested to know what sort of quote should start ringing alarm bells for being too high...
I want to vinyl my kitchen (1.5×3m) and bathroom (1×2m). Laminate my hallway (1.1×3.5m) and carpet my lounge (4.1×4.25). I dont want to use a big chain company like carpetright and wpuld much rather use a local independant fitter but have no idea what i should expect. Help!

You were right about that piece of string. It entirely depends on the floor covering you want. You can get carpet from £5 per meter sq, up to many thousands of pounds. Laminate goes from £5/m up to £25/m.
You need to go and choose some carpet etc and then work out if you can afford it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
