Which travel insurance companies cover Tesco clubcard vouchers?

Does anyone know which travel insurance companies (apart from Tecso itself) will cover you for cancellation if you've used clubcard vouchers to pay for the bulk of the holiday? An added complication is that one of the passengers will be 76! HELP!!
I say what I like, I like what I say!

Try www.travelinsuranceweb.com they cover cc vouchers and are much cheaper than the Tesco travel insurance.0

apart from the above, most companies may only, in the event of cancellation, the monetary equivant of the vouchers i.e. if the voucher states £25 you shoudl see on the bottom of the voucher the monetary eq which would look something like £00.02p. Whatever the real money value of the voucher is all you'd get.0

I took Factor25's advice (Thanks), and got a reasonable quote from www.travelinsuranceweb.com (including pre-existing medical condition). They assured me that in the event of cancellation, payment using Tesco Deal tokens would be recognised by replacement of Deal tokens to the same exchange value. That seems pretty fair to me!0

A year ago we had to cancel our family holiday at disneyland paris as my son was taken in to hospital 2 days before the holiday was due to begin for a serious operation. We had paid with tesco clubcard vouchers (about £400 for a £1200 holiday) and insured several months beforehand with tesco insurance, as I thought this was the only one that covered clubcard vouchers. I have to say, that we sent all the medical documentation and they paid out within a month and the full value of the holiday in a cheque. I don't know if this was what was supposed to happen but I wasn't going to argue. We booked another holiday for when he was better.
So don't rule them out even though they are not the cheapest, some companies make it difficult for you to claim.0 -

I'm with these, I took out a policy a couple of years ago purely because of them covering Tesco vouchers.
Luckily i've never had to use them but I'm now starting to think, HOW can they replace your vouchers.
Do they have a supply of Tesco vouchers on standby that they can send to you---I doubt it.
Other people who have asked them have been told that their points will be refunded to their account, again HOW can they do this---I'm sure they don't have an arrangement with Tesco.
I've yet to see a posting from anyone who is insured with them and has claimed so I don't know what happens on the voucher front.
If anyone knows I'd like to hear just to put my mind at rest.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Someone on the paid to shop forum phoned them up.
He spoke to a manager and the end result was that they do not cover tesco vouchers---either the company were 'confused' about tesco vouchers or they were just telling people what they wanted to hear.
Either way if you want to cover tesco vouchers this does not seem to be the way to go.Waddle you do eh?0
