Interesting you've stumbled upon that because their Eligibility Checker says the following:
As you already have a Barclaycard, you won't be able to apply for another Barclaycard or one of our partner cards. If you would like to find out more about other options that may be available to you, please log in at https://www.barclaycard.co.uk.
I have read here on MSE where people have held their accounts for a certain length of time and changed to the AmEx/Visa cashback cards etc.
Barclaycard recently, before Xmas I think, changed their policy on multiple card ownership - I had 4 this time last year, a Platinum, Cashback, HHonors and IHG Rewards cards. This is no longer possible, though if you already hold multiple cards they don't make you close them.
They had a one card policy previously and changed, so it's possible they may allow multiple cards again in the future. Afaik they still allow you to switch between products (so you could swap a freedom rewards or a platinum for the Cashback card Amex/visa, for example). This is the only way to get the Cashback card, which is not able to be applied for directly.0 -
It's very odd. I have one Barclaycard. I just used the eligibility checker and I'm told you can't apply for a second card ! Even more odd is the eligibility check asks if you already have a Barclaycard so I can't work it out and I'm not wasting a credit check to find out.0

Stop me when I get to one of those you have! Unless you want to list them?
I already have Halifax Clarity Card fro a long time with Halifax with generous credit limit. Last year when they offer a BT credit card I asked their customer service if I could apply a second credit card, they said no, I will need to cancel my clarity card first before I could apply.
But may be the game has changed recently ......0 -
Yes Haliax allow two as I have only just applied and be accepted for a Clairty. The Lloyds Banking Group (Halifax/BoS/Lloyds) maximum of five cards across the group is allowed.0

Do you mean you already have the first clarity card and now get accepted for the second clarity card ? Or get accepted for another credit card from Halifax ??0 -
I already had a balance transfer card with Halifax which I still have and now have a second. The Clarity card.0
