up until this morning we had sky in our main tv that husband had linked into a bedroom with some sort of lead.
upgraded to a sky plus HD box this morning but obviously the bedroom tv no longer gets it. not even sure if the tv is HD ready.
really don't want to pay £14 per month extra so is there anything i can buy that will get me just the non HD sky into the bedroom and if so what is it. Thanks

The engineer probably didn't plug the RFout cable back in. Have a look yourself. It does work. You can have SD output in the bedroom using a co-ax aerial lead and using a Sky Eye remote sensor and second remote control.
They may have left the aerial cable loose or even removed it completely or plugged it directly into the TV. You'll have to play about with it following the cables.
Have you set the box up so that it does output the signal and listen for the Sky Eye on the RFout? Can't remember what setting it was off the top my head..you can Google that or someone else might know.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

The best way to get sky in your bedroom is to open the curtains. LOL0

glad you are having a good sunday lol. no engineer out, salesman had said just disconnect these 2 wires then reconnect on the new box and reset the wifi.
daughter has said there is something called a sky q box? will get SIL to earn his sunday dinners and maybe sort it.

It's just a co-axial lead. Normally that lead goes from the roof top aerial to a splitter in the roof space and you have a lead going down to each of your TV's and you get Freeview. If you've got Sky you don't need Freeview and you can re-route that to go from your Sky box into the roof space then send it down to your other TV. Basically you're removing the splitter and the roof top aerial and linking it directly to each other. You don't need to physically remove them just leave them there and you can put it back when you want to.
You'll need a Sky Eye and a second remote so you can change channels.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Thank you for explaining, may i ask, what is a Sky Eye? Another Sky box?0 -
The latest Sky HD boxes no longer have RF out and so need an additional i/o link in order to connect to a Sky TVlink (Eye).
I would guess that with the advent of Sky Q, Sky are trying to phase out the Eye which has many limitations not least being unable to receive anything other than the channel being viewed on the main box and in very poor standard definition quality.

Honest question: Why on earth would anyone want to watch TV whilst in their bedroom?I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

There are other alternatives, I use a 5.2GHz video sender with my Sky+ box to give me sky on my bedroom TV. I didn't even bother getting the Sky TVlink thingy, the Sky+ app on my phone and tablet has a fully functioning remote built in that allows me to control my box over my local network.0
