overdraft and direct debits

I have an arranged overdraft of £300 . I'm coming to the end of my maternity leave and will more than likely need to use my overdraft until I get my wage back when I'll pay it off.

Will my direct debits go out as normal if I don't have any money in my bank? Will they use my overdraft? Obviously I need my direct debits to go out etc so I don't miss payments etc.

Eg. £50 in bank.... £200 direct debit goes out so my bank would then be -£150? And the direct debit would have been paid.

Thanks

Lucy

Yes, if the agreed overdraft is available, it'll be used for DDs.

For an unarranged overdraft it's normally at the bank's descretion whether to bounce the DD or not.
