I have the Chromecast 2 and it works with WiFi, just sometimes a little juddery. I have just bought an Ethernet adapter but cannot get the Chromecast to connect via ethernet, it still remains on WiFi according to my router.
I have tried connected the cables in the order on the quick start guide several times. I have rebooted it and factory reset it about five times. I have even tried a spare 1st Gen Chromecast I had, but that would only connect to WiFi too.
Does anyone know the solution? I am on firmware version 48342, is that the latest version?
Thanks in advance!

Are you using the official Google adapter?0

I am yes, purchased from Google. Just to add, I've also tried plugging the ethernet cable into different ports on the router, and the cable works fine with other devices.
The router also handles a wired connection to the Sky box absolutely fine.0 -
Looking on the net it maybe a router issue. Plenty of ways to solve the issue just need to search, no point in repeating them here.0

Thanks, I'd seen the known issue, it's frustrating as I believe I'm on the latest firmware so there's no update to run. Guess I'll have to wait until they fix the problem!0
