Switching tarrif Scottish power
Hi, I am currently with Scottish power on a fixed online Nov 2016, there are no exit fees.
According to them if I switch to fixed Apr 2017, I will save £250, although it says my monthly payments will go down £12 a month, so I can't see how that saves £250 a year.
Uswitch say I will save £213.
The new tarrif will have exit fees of £30 per fuel.
My question is, because Scottish power have announced a % 5 cut in gas , due around the 12 March should I hang on for an even better deal. They seem to bring a new tarrif out nearly every month.
Thank you

You can still switch to other scottish power tariffs without an exit fee.
The fee is just for switching to another company/provider.
Furthermore the headline rate cuts always apply to standard rate tariffs which are always more expensive than 1yr fixes anyway, so the 5% cut would not affect you.
If a new scottish power comes out that is cheaper than the april, you will be able to switch to it without any problem.0 -
Dear CashStrapped, I could not have wished for a better answer. Many thanks indeed. I will switch tariff tomorrow.
I had reservations about posting my question, but I am so glad i did.
Thank you very much :T0 -
Just wondered if you could swap from a tariff with exit fees to one without... and then change/exit without charge?0

Yes, that is an option0
