  • I don't want to cause any harm to him, I want to make sure I'm not taking any part an any illegal behaviour, also want to make sure that I will be covered for my accommodation expenses, I don't have any bank transfer transactions proving it, but i can show that I'm withdrawing in cash the exact amount of rent due every month.
Regarding the bills, he pays everything in his name, the council tax is inclusive in the rent cost, all other bills I pay him later in cash on the top of my rent.

Even putting aside your need to prove payment to your employer, this is foolhardy, if not downright stupid.

Never pay out in cash without getting a written and signed receipt each time.

But preferably use a Standing Order, or other bank transfer, or pay by cheque (a bit old-school these days!).

The fact that he is clearly letting the property on the 'Black Economy' should concern you

    a) because of the moral issues or
    b) more personally because he is probobly cutting other corners too
(you've not answered my earlier points above eg gas certificate, deposit etc).

In light of this, your company is right to be asking you to provide evidence that the arrangement is 'koscher' (which it is't).
