Can I burn a multi session data dvd with windows 10?

Hi folks,

Just wondering is it possible to burn a multi session (ability to add data files on a later burn) with the inbuilt burning feature in windows 10, without having to use third party software such as nero?

And if so would it be possible to read those dvd files on a different computer if not finalised?

Thanks a lot for any info.

Anything after Windows XP can read them but its more drive dependent than anything else. With the passage of time and more tolerant lasers on the newer drives, it shouldn't be much of an issue now.

Windows 10 should be able to do it natively, providing you tell it to use it like a USB flash drive when it "formats" the DVD.
  • Thanks,

What I actually mean is, on my copy of nero on a different computer I can burn data to a dvd and choose the option "multisession" to be able to add more data files later, rather than having the DVd or CD finalised.

But not sure if windows 10 supports multisession without having to use third party software such as nero?

    Thanks

All versions of Windows with CD burning support built-in do multi-sessions, it's what called the Live File System. XP can't write DVDs at all, Vista and later can.
