Hi all
I have ongoing problems with my soundplate. Ive had it for a year now and originally used it with a 50" Sony HD TV with no problems. I then upgraded to a Curved Samsung UHD TV which is where the problems started. I did a bit of research and learned two things 1) Samsung (older TVs) had a sync problem and 2) it could also by the Sky TV I have.
I wasn't very impressed with the Samsung TV so went back to a Sony UHD Curved TV. although the sync issues have improved, sometimes I can see it, so I wonder if this is something to do with my setup, so I am hoping someone may be able to offer advice.
I have an LG Soundplate (with the BluRay player) and currently connect as per the below:
Sky
HDMI----Soundplate / Soundplate----HDMI----TV
I can obviously use Optical cable, but wondered if this goes directly from Sky to TV? Also, is there a way i can set it up so that whatever yes into TV (Sky/Xbox etc) comes out of soundplate?
Regarding the sync issues I have checked any delays in settings and neither TV, Sky or Soundplate have any delay.
Thanks all

Sky boxes do have a delay setting - I think you've played with that.
Optical will very likely make a difference, worth trying.
You've got the connections right, everything is meant to connect into the amplifier (or sounplate in your case) then from amplifier to TV. Don't route sound through the TV into the amp.
If the TV and amp both support ARC (Audio Return Channel) this allows the sound to go back down the HDMI lead into the amp from the TV. You TV may have settings for this, and different manufacturers brand it different ways too.0 -

Hi, thanks for that. The TV does support ARC as when it turns on it tells me an ARC device is detected. So if they both support it, how should I wire it?0 -
You should wire it the way you've got it wired. All you need for ARC is the HDMI from amp to TV - that's the point!
So you've found the settings on the TV, find them on the amp (again, it can be confusing, you'll defo need your instructions!).
Really, the only thing you should be using ARC for is for the TV's own tuner (Freeview/Freesat) as everything else should be into the soundplate first, then passed to TV.0
