Has anybody bought from Onlinebabystore.co.uk?

Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this, but I was wondering if anyone has tried https://www.onlinebabystore.co.uk?

They have a very good price for the Mamas and Papas Pramette that we're hoping to buy, but I'm a bit nervous of buying from a company I've never heard of. Anyone have any advice?

Hi Spook...sorry, I haven't used them myself, but if you're wary of buying from them it might be worth contacting your nearest M&P stockist, and asking if they would match the online price? There is a store locator on the M&P website if you're not sure if there is a shop near you.

I bought the Pramette recently in my local shop for £225..reduced because they were discontinuing the style (baroque). The staff were extremely helpful, as I spent ages asking them to demonstrate how to put it up & down, put the rainhood on, the carseat on etc, as I have a disability that makes some things awkward for me & I needed a pram/pushchair that was very easy to manage....and after all that I didn't even buy a full-price one!

Thanks for the info, might just pluck up the courage to ask them to match the online price! It's for a discontinued style though, so maybe they won't.

Our local Mamas & Papas was also very helpful and gave us a really thorough demonstration, they even let us bring our car to the service entrance to see if it would fit in the boot! :)

Have you had any problems with the Pramette in general?

I haven't actually used it yet, as baby isn't due till September 3rd...I probably wouldn't have bought one that day, as I'd only gone to see what they were like , but we spotted the reduced one & if we wanted it we had to take it there & then. But as I say I tried it out a lot in the shop -putting it up, down, pushing it round, putting the car seat in & out, putting the raincovers on, turning it from the pram to pushchair, and it was definitely the easiest one for me given my disability.

I'd tried some different pushchairs in Mothercare but didn't find them so suitable & the staff weren't so helpful...they didn't know how to put some of them up or down & I felt a bit like I was taking up too much of their time! The M & P staff were brill & they let me swap the zip-on raincovers that came with the pramette to a different type that I could put on more easily.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

If your local shop won't price match, it might be worth risking an order from onlinebabystore...it is a v.good price & free delivery as well & they might be fine.

Have you looked for any reviews of the shop on the web? That might give you an idea of what they're like to deal with.

Thanks for the help - we've spent ages in various shops too and found Mamas & Papas to be the most helpful.

I agree with what you say about the pushchair - it does seem to be one of the easiest to handle, and also quite lightweight, which is important as my wife has back problems.

Can't find any reviews of onlinebabystore, which is why I came here :) but I'm thinking about risking it. I'm normally quite happy buying online, but a bit nervous about such a major purchase! I should just take the plunge and go for it really...

If you use a credit card to pay for it, then you'll be covered with them if it all goes pear shaped (as long as the purchase is over £100)
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.
  • Used them only last week. Ordered a Maxi Cosi car seat and it arrived two days later. I originally tried to get the seat from twoleftfeet.com but when it hadn’t arrived after 2 weeks I emailed onlinebabystore.com to check that they had stock, they replied within an hour to say that they had and that they would reserve one for me in case I proceeded with the order. Can’t ask for more than that!
