This little old lady is Cross. I just have my state pension so no money to waste. I joined the Marks and Spencer premium club years ago when I retired as it included travel insurance up to age 80. £10 a month went up to £20 but it was still acceptable to me as I like the extra vouchers they sent me. Yesterday as I had paid the card off in full ( as I do every month) I decided to close my account. This took about an hour on the phone to somewhere abroad that didn't speak very good English. I was told no other charges on account so account closed and next month's £20 would not be added. Got told to cut up the cards. Last night the account could still be accessed by me and was still at zero. This morning I checked again and the charge of £20 had gone on. After one hour on the phone to 2 different people I paid the £20. Got told all the stuff I was told yesterday was wrong and my account will be closed on 15th March. What a hassle. O and I am getting a gift card for £25 for my trouble - I guess that is my £20 back and £5 ( thanks M&S ) for being a loyal customer since the premium card came out.
