Where can I get one year interest free credit on a laptop?

Apart from PC World, as there doesn't seem to be much choice there. I'm looking to spend around £1,200, something for general use (I'm studying Computer Systems at University), fast, large hard drive, maybe a widescreen, good enough to make a decent desktop replacement but not TOO heavy in case I want to take it to the Uni library to work there (if anybody has any specific suggestions on what I should get).

£1200 is a bit OTT really. You can get a good spec laptop for half the price. Remember that the desktop replacements (usually ones that do gaming) eat batteries.0

Dabs, Dell (I think).
When I looked recently Dabs were offering interest free credit i think on orders over £400.0 -
Why don't you try a more MSE-style approach?
Get a "0% for 12 month for purchases" credit card (ie. the Halifax One card), shop around for the best price for the required specification, and buy it from them on the card. Set up a DD for the minimum payment each month and also repay the balance as required within the year.
Whenever I'm shopping around for stuff for either myself or work, it is exceptional if I end up anywhere other than eBuyer. Also, with a laptop, don't skimp on the warranty - accidents happen, especially to laptops! The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Hah well in this forum most people usually say extended warranties aren't worth it. Because in a years time or so the laptop is outdated anyway but accidental damage is a different ball game.0 -
Alienware do 1 year interest free and the PC's and Laptops are top notchDon't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best
Just because it's free don't mean it's good
Ditch Norton Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall:
Just Because you read it some where don't mean it's right0 -
Spending £1200 on interest free credit is putting yourself in £600 more debt than you need to. :money:
A Dell Inspiron 1720 / 1721 is a laptop with a 17 inch screen for £599 and £579 respectively. Check out www.dmxdimension.com.
Better still, live without the 17inch screen, buy a Dell Vostro 1000 with a Turion processor upgrade for around £320. It will be more than ample for university work.
Either use Dells buy now pay later approach or get a card with an interest free period.
£1200 is £100 you'll have to find every month, £600 is just £50.
Also laptops with 17 inch screens are bulky and tend to be heavy.0 -
This is all really helpful, thanks0
