BT supermarket voucher: scam?

Has anyone else found it impossible to claim the voucher that BT offered for certain new customers?
The on-line form asks me to provide the order reference, but when I typed in the reference they sent me, which was 19 characters long, the form gave an error message saying that it has to be 20 characters! Furthermore, the FAQ on the same page says that the order reference is 12 characters!
The claim form also allows you to provide a VOI number, which they say is given on your bill. So I checked mine in detail, and it does NOT give a VOI number.
All in all, they seem to waste a lot of the customer's time and eventually make it impossible to claim: very shoddy.

Not sure if this will help. If you got an email from BT confirming the order, there may be a "track your order" link in it.
If you use that link, it should take you to a web page with the VOL number on it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Why not just jump on live chat and ask for the VOL number if you can't find it? https://bt.custhelp.com/app/chat/contact_chat/queue_id/275/c/1885
For what it's worth myself and several family members upgraded to BT Infinity a while back when they had the Sainsburys gift vouchers several of us got £100 a few of us got £60.
Nobody had any issues claiming and all vouchers/cards came within a few weeks without any issues.0 -
here's a new scam
got a leaflet through the door saying:
free boiler if you claim tax credits,
Phoned up number and the first thing they said
''you might be eligible to discount on your old boiler''.
I put the phone down straight away.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
