Question about electricity use

in Energy
This is probably a stupid question, but as I was cooking breakfast this morning, I was wondering which uses more energy - cooking something on a high heat for a short time, or on a low heat for a longer time? Or are they the same

In theory it takes exactly the same amount of energy.
However in practice, because so much heat is lost by warming the air and stove/utensils, the quicker you cook the less energy you use.
The reason why cooking with a microwave is much more economical is the majority of the energy is used for the cooking and less is wasted.
But hardly worth bothering about.0
