Kindle - power adapter

I'm looking at the Kindle E-reader on Amazon, it's reduced to £49.99 just now. However, the power adapter is a whopping £17.99.
Is there some generic adapter available anywhere to get instead, that won't cause it to go !!!!!!?

Is it not just an ordinary USB power adaptor? Most likely you already have a few.
And it's likely that you'll find yet another one in the box.
What Kindle is it?

So, any power adaptor with a USB socket will do the job. Or any wired adaptor with a micro-USB lead: http://www.johnlewis.com/amazon-kindle-ereader-6-touch-screen-wi-fi/p1713553?sku=234039127&kpid=234039127&s_kenid=3a175472-eea4-b588-eb65-000056b25728&s_kwcid=402x359618&tmad=c&tmcampid=73Included in the BoxKindle, USB 2.0 charging cable
If it's the same Kindle at JL, they are likely to sell it with 2-years's warranty, unlike Amazon's pathetic 1 year, - and for the same price.0 -
I dunno if it's an ordinary one, or if it's 'special'.

We have a kindle and charges with same charger we use for my Windows lumia phone and other halfs galaxy phone. Have you not got another charger already.0

My phone charger works for my kindle0

I don't think I do have one. If a cheap ordinary one will work, why are Amazon wanting £18 for it? Doesn't make sense to me.0

It's accelerated charging, so a lot faster than a usual charger.
There is a normal USB cable in the box that you can use to charge the Kindle with.0 -

Thanks. Any old USB plug will do I guess. Or use my PC.
Beats me why Amazon want £18 for one, accelerated or not.0 -
It says 'compatible with all Android devices' which doesn't make it look particularly special to me.I dunno if it's an ordinary one, or if it's 'special'.

1.8A is good, but hardly unusual. In fact, the AmazonBasics one is 2.1A for £7.
