An un-incorporated society, how public should the Committee meeting Minutes & Agendas be?
It is a membership based group that invites the public to join, & produces public performances.
I assume members should have access to the minutes, but what about the Agenda for a future meeting?
Or should they both be as public as possible, for example loaded onto their website?
thanks

Do you have any governing documents? What do they say?
I'm on the committee for a small walking group. Committee meeting minutes and agendas don't go on our website, nor do members generally see them, although I'm sure if someone asked we would pass them on. We report decisions through our newsletters.
Agenda for the AGM and I think the minutes too go on our website.
I also work for a small charity, which is also a ltd company, and we have company members, so we have very definite obligations there. AGM minutes don't go on the website but do go to members, not to absolutely everyone we invite to attend. Minutes from Trustee meetings are kept confidential.
Personally, I can think of few things LESS inviting than a set of minutes and I wouldn't put them on a website unless I had to. I'd report news in a more inviting way. Agenda too - if you want people to know about a meeting and come to it, there are probably better ways of achieving that.
What are you hoping to achieve here, or what concerns do you have?Signature removed for peace of mind0
