Switching from Santander

Hi

I'm considering switching from Santander to Halifax as with the new increase in the fee I'm currently paying them for the use of the account.

I don't have any savings with them so its no use staying with them.

I was considering Halifax reward account due to the cashback bonus.

However I currently have 2 credit cards with Santander. I can't afford to pay off the balances.

Does anyone know if this will cause a problem for me?

Hi,
Ive just applied to switch from Santander to Halifax today and also have balances on credit cards but it all seemed to go through fine, said i havd been accepted....so good luck!

Why not look for a balance transfer deal with another credit card?
There's loads out there, Halifax offer one for 40 months (online).

I don't seem to have a very good credit rating as I was declined for a new credit card last year. I'm planning on going in to Halifax and see what they can do for me. Thanks for everyone's help!
