It has a Welsh flag on the number plate - surely it can be rejected on that alone "We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -

Wrong car, wrong colour and the wrong price... Why does the chassis number say its a 2002, 1.8 petrol, LX, LHD and manual? (just kidding)
Shame its the CD4E but other than that, its the right engine and the right spec. Anything thats not to your liking is cheap and readily available (usually).
No EBA either. But that maybe a good thing.
Did the seller warn you not to put all 6 CDs in the changer? they have a habit of taking a liking to them and not wanting to give them back.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The cads ! The bounders ! You were done good and proper there. You do realise, don't you, that the seller put cheap supermarket fuel in it ? The engine will be totally wrecked by now.
You'd have been much better opting for a BMW M3
A class thread Sir, well done you. Brightened up my evening no end.0 -
I did wonder about the fuel quality so gave it a drink of branded ultra unleaded on the way home (ok, I picked up the wrong nozzle and didn't realise until I'd started pumping - 25p/litre extra!!!!)
Also bit the bullet on the driveshaft bearing today and ordered a genuine Ford one through the local dealer. Not a huge fan of second hand drive shafts and most of the after-market bearings come without the elastomer support bracket. The Ford one comes complete.
Figure that a 140k /15 year old lump of rubber that's under the engine and been holding a noisy, overheating, bearing for the past couple of years is probably past its best and I don't really want to be pulling the shaft twice just to replace that in a few months. It's added the best part of £120 to the cost of the car but, with an OEM one, once it's done it should be done for the life of the car.0 -
Did you attempt on the test drive, drive at speed e.g. 70mph to see what it was like?0

I must admit that, no, I didn't. Maxed out at around 50 - 55.
But in my defence, these were the roads for about 10 miles in all directions and I didn't want to bend it (that is nowhere near as long or as smooth as google maps makes it look )
