Concert tickets

This may not be the correct thread, but would appreciate advice.
I have bought 4 tickets for a concert in June (now sold out), but for various reasons the people I bought them for cannot go. I would like to sell them at the price I paid for them, but need to protect myself from fraudsters and reassure the buyers that this is not a scam. I have the relevant paperwork from the ticketing company, and will have the credit card statement confirming the purchase and price - however I will not receive the tickets until about 5 days before the concert, (The payment will be on my credit card this month).
How best to advertise and manage the sale?.

You should get the tickets well before 5 days prior to the show, the promotions company say that is the minimum time frame. In my experience they usually get sent out a lot sooner.
If it's an in demand event I find Gumtree is the best, cash upon collection.
However you can try ticketstub, by their fees are quite high. If you don't have the tickets yet you can still sell them, but the site will hold the buyers cash until they recieve the tickets, then it is released to you.0 -
Thanks 19lottie82,
I would prefer not to pay any further charges, I have already paid out £330.00!.
I also have a bit of a thing about companies piling on the profit at the expense of fans...
I understand the Beyonce tickets are all sold out, so perhaps Gumtree would be my best bet.
I will also ask friends and family to put the word out.

If you don't want to pay any charges, then yes your only options (I think) are Gumtree and spreading the word with friends and family. Or on Facebook?
If the tickets are sold out then I'm sure you won't have any problems shifting them.0 -
What about listing them on Scarlet Mist?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Beware buyers that just want to sabotage your sale. They may assume your a tout and buy your tickets and change their mind hours before or claim not received until it was too late.
Been a few posts where sellers were stuck with tickets they thought had sold but the buyer got their money back.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Thanks,
I will look into Scarlet Mist when I get back from hols.
Would it be reasonable to ask for 50% of the ticket price up front in cash, and the balance when I receive the tickets (about a fortnight before the concert).
I will insist on meeting the buyer(s) face to face so they can check me out (and vice versa) and they can confirm the transaction is genuine as I have all the paperwork. They would need to be fairly local!.
Thanks,

Reverse the situation, would you pay up 50% in advance?0
