student loans and travelling

Options
So I'm a little confused, and I wanted some advice from people that may have had experience with this before I ring the phone number and go into a recorded conversation.

So I may well be going travelling for over a year, and I don't have much money. I'm going to be travelling on the cheap, taking budget busses, (maybe) volunteering during some parts of the journey, but most of the time I'm probably going to be living in hippie-style communities somewhere.

What I won't be doing is staying in hotels and doing travel packages.

At no point will I be earning any money, and I won't be meeting any requirements for repayment (unless there is some bull that I don't know about)

Now, apparently the student loans company wants proof of things, and sure I can send my bank statement, but they want something called a 'travel itinery'.

What exactly is this?

I'm not going to have many reciepts of things. I'm not going to have much of anything to show. And I don't want to be submitting a track record of my movements and other personal information that isn't what I'm already showing (which is my bank account statement, which will only be falling, albiet slowly).

Does anyone have any experience with this that could shed some light on this? Thank you!

    itinerary

    [ahy-tin-uh-rer-ee, ih-tin-]

noun, plural itineraries. 1. a detailed plan for a journey, especially a list of places to visit; plan of travel.

    2. a line of travel; route.

    3. an account of a journey; record of travel.

    4. a book describing a route or routes of travel with information helpful to travelers; guidebook for travelers.

I'd guess that either 1 or 3 would be most appropriate for you, depending on whether it's needed before or after you travel.

I don't want to be rude but, how are you a fully grown adult having gone through university and don't know what an itinerary is?

I do one for most of my holidays! As above, its usually just a list of places you are going and when. If you are going on holiday on your own you'd usually give it to family or something (I don't but I know others do) so they know where you'd be at a certain point in your travels.

On the right there is an "Itinerary", click on that and gives a perfect example of one. I suspect thats the sort of thing they want, just to make sure you aren't fibbing.
